If know me, you probably know that I am passionate about the work of Dr. Sue Johnson, psychologist and developer of the most effective form of couples therapy out there, Emotionally Focused Therapy.
The majority of her work is academic, as she spends so much time researching and studying her work with couples.
But she’s not one of those snooty academics with her head in the clouds, totally out of touch with reality.
Anyone who’s met her or seen her talk knows that she is down to earth, funny, and more than anything, human.
(Okay, maybe she is superhuman to most of us, but she doesn’t act it!)
Fortunately for those of us who don’t enjoy reading research,
she has not limited herself to academic writing.
I tell any couple who comes to work with me to read her 2008 book, Hold Me Tight: Seven Conversations for a Lifetime of Love.
Hold Me Tight is the first book that she wrote for the public, not just for therapists.
This book, and the workshops that she also developed based on this book, have changed the lives of countless couples. One couple who came to a recent workshop said it was more effective than nearly 6 months of intensive couples therapy several times a week!
That is how powerful Sue Johnson’s work is.
And the good news is…she is releasing a new book this New Year’s Eve.
It’s called Love Sense: The Revolutionary New Science of Romantic Relationships.
Mine is pre-ordered.
I know I won’t be disappointed.
And let me tell you – I don’t even earn commission for promoting her work!
It’s just that good.
Pre-order yours today before they’re all gone.
Give yourself the gift of your best relationship in 2014. Sue is the best guide to take you there.
And when you finally read it, please let me know what you think! I’m sure a book review will be on my calendar for next year.
Cheers to your best relationship,
