This week, I am encouraging you to have meta-conversations with your partner about your relationship.
A meta-conversation is basically a conversation about your relationship.
In other words, check in with each other on a regular basis: How are you guys doing in your relationship together?
Ask each other this question.
I’m not saying you need to do this daily, but it’s something to think about daily.
Consciously create your best relationship together.
Make it a weekly habit to have this kind of meta-conversation with each other.
As a business owner, you’re constantly stepping outside of your business and looking in at it.
You ask yourself where things are going well, where you need to make improvements, and how you can grow and expand.
Do the same for your relationship.
I heard Jack Canfield in an interview once say how he and his wife have a weekly conversation in which they ask each other,
On a scale of 1-10, how is our relationship doing?
That’s a great prompt to use as a conversation starter.
If your relationship isn’t at a “10,” what would it take to get it there?
Start having this conversation with each other on a regular basis, and you’ll see it get to a “10” before long.
Your habit to implement:
A regularly held meta-conversation with your partner about the state of affairs in your relationship.
Use this time to connect, to really hear each other, and to learn what’s important to each other.
It’s easy to take our perceptions for granted, and it’s so important to let each other know about them.
I hope this series of habits has been helpful for you.
Let me know in the comments your biggest take-aways from the last five weeks.
Just because this series of posts is over doesn’t mean you should stop implementing.
Keep up these habits and you’ll be well on your way to your best relationship.
Cheers to thriving in business & love,
